Julian Sky Aldana-Tejada -yeah, that's quite a few names so Julian will work for short - was born in Queens, NY and from a young age developed an acute interest in art, storytelling, and the liberal arts. He originally wanted to be a creative writer, and then a violinist - a skill that he still carries with him - and finally an actor, all by the age of eight.
Julian first began his training at the Professional Performing Arts High School (PPAS) where he graduated as Valedictorian in 2013, and then pursued a BFA in Acting from Emerson College in Boston where he recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Honors Program. He has also been recognized nationally for his performing by the National YoungArts Foundation, where he was named a 2013 Finalist in Theatre. Julian has worked with the Apolinnaire Theatre Company in Boston, The Actors Movememnt Studio, Waterwell Theatre Company, the Baryshnikhov Arts Center, and the British American Drama Academy (MIO '14) in various capacities ranging from student. to actor and artistic intern.
Julian has had the honor of working with several master teachers throughout his training including Mikhail Baryshnikov, Kathleen Turner, Julian Glover, Fiona Shaw, John Barton, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Anna Deavere Smith, with whom he appeared in the HBO miniseries 'Masterclass'.
Aside from Acting, Julian is also an active Playwright and Producer. His work has been produced both by Emerson Stage and by the Emerson Shakespeare Society in Boston. Julian is interested in writing , producing, and creating work that is poignant, socially relevant, and explores previously untold stories from a multitude of different perspectives, all in service of reflecting and actively responding to the current cultural moment.
Julian can only hope that a fruitful career in film, television, and the theatre lies before him, and is a strong believer that every project needs a good strong work ethic, and a solid sense of humor.
